Clay Schafer is the Founder and Responsible Broker of Premier Horse Property, a specialized real estate brokerage representing exceptional equestrian properties, luxury estates, farms, and ranches.

Raised in Colorado and born into a family deeply involved in agriculture and horses, Clay's understanding of rural property began long before his real estate career. From managing his family's hay operation in Wyoming to building a successful career as a Certified Journeyman Farrier, his experience provided a firsthand understanding of the land, facilities, and infrastructure that support equestrian and agricultural operations.

After more than a decade working professionally in the horse industry, Clay entered real estate in 2021, recognizing an opportunity to combine his agricultural background, industry relationships, and interest in business and marketing. He founded Premier Horse Property in 2023 with a clear objective: to bring a more knowledgeable, sophisticated, and strategically driven approach to equestrian real estate.

Clay's expertise extends beyond the traditional scope of real estate brokerage. His background encompasses agricultural operations, water rights, equestrian facilities, and the practical considerations that distinguish exceptional horse properties. He has also invested extensively in real estate marketing, photography, videography, and emerging technology, approaching each property with an emphasis on thoughtful positioning, effective presentation, and disciplined execution.

A business owner and entrepreneur, Clay is also the founder of HoofPick.com, an equine industry platform connecting horse owners, professionals, businesses, and educational resources. His continued involvement in the broader horse community provides valuable relationships and perspective across equestrian disciplines and markets.

Known for his straightforward communication, strong work ethic, and commitment to his clients, Clay approaches real estate with a simple philosophy: understand the objective, develop the right strategy, and execute it exceptionally well.

Born in Sheridan, Wyoming, and raised throughout Colorado, Clay now lives in central Wyoming with his wife and two children. Outside of business, he enjoys spending time with his family and in the mountains, particularly hunting, fishing, hiking, and skiing.
